Good morning! It has been HOT here – it honestly feels more like the peak of summer than the start of fall… I was even in the pool yesterday. As I was laying on my raft dealing with the warm temperatures, crunchy brown leaves were falling on me. Nature seemed to be infusing my autumn dreams with reality. After all, fall’s official birthday is TODAY!
As the season transitions, even if only minorly depending on where you live, a shift in the wardrobe is always exciting. Every fall, I try to pick up a few really good basics from Nordstrom – simple pieces that can be mixed in different ways and that will last the entire fall and winter season. These must-haves won’t fail to put a pep in your step over and over again!
MY TOP PICK– I first discovered how amazing this BP. top was last year after purchasing it in ivory and wearing it more than any other piece in my closet. The sleeves taper in a way that is flattering and distinctively different than your average mock turtleneck. It also washes and dries excellent, which is key! Nordstrom brought it back this year in four new colors, and I love the warm tone of ‘brown chino’ and ‘green forest’!
Your feet will love these booties — The ankle height is great for skinny jeans or dresses, and they match almost any outfit.
Hair clips… they’re back!
This Chelsea28 Cross Front Blouse gives the front tuck look without actually being tucked in. It drapes beautifully and can be dressed up or down!

Whatever the holiday, my kids always burst with excitement when I start bringing our seasonal decor out from storage. They spring to open the tubs and profess their love for the season as they twirl around placing items throughout the house. This scene took place for us on Sunday. We’ve had house guests, back to back cases of sickness, and I decided now was a great time to spice things up a little. Look what just arrived at my door! The kick that’s going to take me through fall! These Adidas Swift Run Sneakers are exactly what I was hoping for — more beige/tan than pink.

I normally wear a size 8 and ordered a 7.5 based on customer reviews. I am glad I did because they fit great with plenty of room in the toe.
